I had recently received the NOS Mullard 12AX7 (Blackburns) from Nesstone which sound absolutely amazing (see my review on them for more details) but they didn’t really pop until I installed the Sylvania 12AT7WA’s in the driver valve positions. These added to the immense sound stage and 3D effect. What I really like about them is I don’t need a lot of volume to hear the true depth of the music. I appreciate that in my advancing years as I try to conserve my hearing, the music doesn’t have to be too loud to enjoy.
