The voltage regulator tube is a cold cathode, gas filled tube for maintaining a desired voltage within a circuit. Their designation numbers all begin with zero because there is no heater and therefore, no heater voltage. The second designation character corresponds to the regulated voltage. The designations ending in 3 are octal based tubes and those ending in 2 are miniature based.
